The Journey:

Based on the Twelve steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, The Journey is a group of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may uncover and solve their common problems that hold them back from growth. The only requirement for membership is a desire for growth.  We don’t require any beliefs and we are not trying to fix each other. Our primary purpose is for personal growth and help to achieve sobriety which means balance.

Space for Reflection & Prayer

Step 11 of the twelve steps says: “We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God … praying only for a knowledge of God’s will and the power to carry it out.” We want to provide space for people to engage in reflective practices that help us with this step and our ongoing growth and healing. Anyone is welcome to join us please contact us if you would like more information.

Art on the water

Facilitated by resident artists and boaters from our community, Art on the Water is back this December, we will run another Kids festival with storytelling, printing, painting, collage and music in preparation for the Christmas season. Dates to be confirmed, please email us if you want to be kept updated.

Single Parents coffee morning

Hosted by a single parent from our community we want to provide space for single parents to gather, connect and to talk about life and parenthood.

Youth Outreach

We are passionate about finding ways that we can support local young people as they navigate a rapidly changing world post-pandemic. We want St Columba to be a safe place for youth to gather from different backgrounds to talk about life and connect with other young people as they journey into adulthood.

Death Café

A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session. Anyone is welcome, tea and cake are provided. If you would like to find out when the next one is happening please get in contact and we can keep you updated.

Football

Pre-pandemic we had started a local football match in partnership with a local business and a local school. The aim of the league was to bring together people from different backgrounds to get to know each other and then to see what we can do to support the community. The group had around 70 people who played a regular 11 side league on Monday evenings.

We are hoping to re-launch this programme in the near future, please contact us if you would like to be kept updated.
